Your honest unfiltered feedback, pls

You are a pretty interesting mix of people of all ages, locations and tastes. I struggle to find the through line as to why we’re all here, together, now. I do feel like First Rodeo is the coziest corner of my inbox/the internet and I share thoughts and secrets with you here the way I never would on Instagram or…. Twitter…. or…. LinkedIn…. obviously.

Lately I’ve been thinking about why I never promote my newsletter, despite the fact that it is by far my largest “platform” and many of my friends and peers have no idea I write one. Has a lot to do with shame, I think— and not even shame from having “promoted” a past failure, but the shame of saying “here I am! look at me! I think my shit is GOOD!”

In December, Grace Clarke’s New Years goal reflecting/setting exercise was making its way around the internet and I printed out all 28 pages (I don’t want to talk about how much this cost at the local print and ship) and spent the last few days working through it.
