Lately I’ve been thinking about why I never promote my newsletter, despite the fact that it is by far my largest “platform” and many of my friends and peers have no idea I write one. Has a lot to do with shame, I think— and not even shame from having “promoted” a past failure, but the shame of saying “here I am! look at me! I think my shit is GOOD!”
