This is not a “best of” 2023 list because I am very tired of that concept after working a handful of years in media.
(But this is my personal “best of” 2023.)
At the very least, you walk away with good book or TV recs. Maybe a handy recipe or recommendation!

The book My Husband by Maud Ventura…. this one really stuck with me. Initially, I was prepared to say it was objectively my favorite book I read in 2023. I haven’t heard anyone talk about it though! And then I read a few others that are absolutely competing in the same genre…
…like Big Swiss. Now this might be the best book I’ve read this year…
…or Rouge. Wow.
The Rachel Incident was a terrific book about love and friendship set in the aughts in Ireland.
The Christie Affair is a fictionalized re-imagining of what could have happened to Agatha Christie when she went missing at the height of her career. Also Irish vibes. This is not a critic favorite so I’m not sure why I enjoyed it so much. I like drama and Ireland.
