MINI LETTER: consumer trends (they're not what you think they are)
Zyn, Ozempic, and no more inflation! The New Consumer report for H2 2024 is out. Here's what's kind of surprising.
The New Consumer report just came out (I covered the last one here— recommended reading, before you go into this one honestly) and it was a natural evolution from winter’s report.
If you’ve never heard of the report, it’s some really well digested and researched consumer data, made possible by Dan Frommer and his team (The New Consumer!) and Coefficient Capital, a venture capital firm. They do these reports and synthesize the data really well, they could inform your next job decision, fundraising deck, or even just be an interesting and rare moment of learning about things just to learn, even though we are all adults long out of school.
I metabolized the report this morning and I only want to talk about the things in it that might surprise you.
First, the economy kind of sucks right? Inflation, kicking our asses?
